Who we are
AVEL Robotics grew out of a collaborative project, financed by Région Bretagne, where the innovative AFP technique was introduced to manufacture hydrofoils for Absolute Dreamer’s flying catamaran, Easy To Fly.
This testbed - the production of catamaran hydrofoils – guarantees the ability to produce identical appendages which are necessary for this one-design class.
AVEL Robotics was launched soon after - to manufacture high quality, high performance parts for clients in the ocean racing arena. Avel Robotics is an independent company with private investors.
AVEL Robotics strength lies in its innovation; a near-perfect result in one go, again and again, with a drastically reduced production lead time.
Various projects are currently underway : mass-produced pleasure yachts, prototypes, motorboats, hydrofoils and various appendages, etc.
To address these challenges, AVEL Robotics has gathered together a dedicated team comprised of a structural engineer, composite materials and R&D engineer, PHD mechanical engineer, a hydrodynamics and design engineer as well as experienced composite technicians.
AVEL Robotics avails of 1,000 m² in the dedicated ocean racing centre on the west coast of Brittany known as the ex WW2 submarine base of Lorient, an iconic destination for world renowned blue ocean projects and tourists alike.
Our workshop is comprised of a layup room, cure room and sanding booth.
